Funeral Planning

The loss of a loved one is a profound and difficult journey, but as Catholics, we hold firm to the promise of Christ

"I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live"

  John 11:25

Death is not the end, but a passage into eternal life with God. At St. Dominic, our faith community extends our deepest condolences and support during this time of loss. The Catholic funeral rites remind us of God’s love, offer consolation, and celebrate the life of the deceased through prayer, Scripture, and the Eucharist.

After coordinating with the funeral home,  please contact our Parish Office to begin planning the funeral liturgy and related services.

Quinceañeras

A Quinceañera is a sacred celebration of faith, family, and thanksgiving for the gift of life, marking a young woman’s journey with Christ. As she enters this new stage, the Church offers a special blessing, asking God to fill her heart with grace, wisdom, and love. This tradition reaffirms her call to follow Jesus through love and service. We are honored to celebrate this meaningful milestone with your family.

REQUIREMENTS:

To receive a Quinceañera blessing at St. Dominic Parish, the young woman must:

  • Be a practicing Catholic and have received Baptism and First Communion.
  • Be enrolled in Religious Education in preparation for Confirmation and attend Mass regularly.
  • Register at the parish office one year prior to the celebration
  • Attend the required Quinceañera retreat.
  • If enrolled in Religious Education at another parish, submit a parish-format letter confirming Confirmation preparation, signed by the Director of Religious Education or pastor.
Funerals, Quinceañeras & Blessings

blessings

Blessings are a cherished part of the Catholic tradition, inviting God’s grace, protection, and guidance into our daily lives. Through blessings, we acknowledge God as the source of all goodness and dedicate people, objects, or moments to His loving care.

We offer blessings for a variety of occasions, including:

  • Homes and personal spaces
  • Vehicles or possessions
  • Expectant parents and newborns
  • Special intentions and milestones

Receiving a blessing is a simple yet profound way to experience God’s presence, ask for His guidance, and grow in faith. Our clergy are happy to provide blessings and prayerful support to individuals, families, and groups in our parish community.
